2003 an Abuja Upper Bwari area court judge, Anwwal Yusuf, described how James Ibori tried to compromise him. His tool: the current deputy governor of Delta State, Professor Amos Utuama.
“I had a meeting with Governor James Ibori in the presence of one Bala Ngilari and Professor Amos Utuama, Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice at the Delta State Government House located on Asokoro district Abuja on the 23rd of January 2003 where Governor Ibori promised to
pay me cash of 10 million in any currency,” Judge Yusuf said.
